The Common Sense Question Answer
Now, the answer to the common sense question is *drum roll*...............................
To begin, the glass of water with ice cubes is relatively cold when placed on the table. As time passes on, the temperature of the glass is still cold, because the hunched together ice cubes are doing everything they possibly can to keep the glass from warming up. But, the ice cubes are working against the clock. As slowly and delicately as can be, the ice cubes begin to melt. This is a bad sign for the ice, because the ice will melt away as the temperature of the glass of ice water works its way toward room temperature.
Now, I know most of you answered the question correctly. It is a fairly simple question. But, how many of you knew that this was one of my calculus questions? Granted, it was from the first section in the book, and it probably draws the line closer to pre-cal than calculus. However, it goes to show that you are all smarter than you think. I have found out that this usually comes as a significant revelation to some people, so that is why I asked this question. Smartness is not about talent. Anyone can achieve straight A's, if they push themselves, discipline themselves. My encouragement is to push yourself in everything you do for the glory of God, because the reward will be great. It is not easy, but it will well be worth it in the end.
On another note, calculus, in the form of functions, is all around you. People, who say there is no use in calculus or mathematics to them, have no idea what they are talking about. You all set a glass of ice water on the table. Don't you? When you do that, you are experiencing the calculus involved as the ice begins to melt away within the glass. Calculus, in itself, is everywhere. :)

Last Chance to Answer Question
This is the last and final call to answer the common sense question. I will post the significance of the problem and the answer tomorrow. God bless you all. :)

Common Sense Question
If you could please give me your best answer to this question, I would be much obliged. Here is the question:
You put some ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass with cold water, and then let the glass sit on a table. Describe how the temperature of the water changes as time passes.
This is a very significant question. I know it is random and I picked it straight out of the blue. However, I will explain the significance of this question after everyone has had a chance to answer it. :)

Powered By Reftagger
Thanks to Dakota, my blog is now powered by Reftagger. The greatness of this tool is this: if you hover over a Scripture reference I write down, the verse pops up in a bubble above the text. For example, try hovering the mouse over Philippians 3:7. The verse shows up with perfect efficiency. I do not have to write the full verse down anymore. It saves a lot of typing and time. However, I still may write the verse(s) down in order to display exactly what I am trying to convey in the posts I write. But, the introduction of Reftagger is a significant blog tool. Thanks Dakota. :)

An Adeptly Patient Neurosurgeon
Have any of you ever played the game of labyrinth before? If you have, you understand the intricacies of the game. The object is to guide a silver ball through a maze consisting of many holes to the finish line. If the ball falls into one of the holes, you lose and start the game all over again. Pretty easy, huh. Try doing it in about 24 seconds.
You think that was neat. Wait, until you see this one. A neurosurgeon, who played the one ball game of labyrinth in the video above, is challenging himself with a two ball game of labyrinth. A two ball game of labyrinth is near impossible by many circumstances, but watch and see how he patiently guides the two balls to the finish line in about two and a half minutes. It is a supreme display of intellect and sheer patience.
I trust him to operate on my brain. :)

Top Ten Reflective Memoirs of 2010 From 10 to 1
This will be my first post containing pictures in a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy long time. What are my top ten memories of 2010 ranging from spiritual to non-spiritual, from familial to friendships, from least to greatest? Here we go:
#10 - My Car Accident
This is the exact model of the car that I wrecked nearly four weeks ago. Most importantly though, the car accident was a reflective memory in that I can truly remember God's infinite protection over me, while I was in the car. I should have been in the hospital for some reasonable amount of time with the way the truck was literally pummeled, but I thank God everyday for His grace and mercy on my life. Thank you Lord for protecting me!
#9 - Christmas 2010
This was my favorite present. :) I received a piece of sugarcane from my cousin's husband Lee, and it is very firm and strong--- a perfect guy's present. Seriously, Christmas was amazing. However, I may model one of my new shirt's one of these days. ;)
#8 - Back to Back NBA Champs - Los Angeles Lakers
When you live near LA, it is all about basketball. The Lakers are one of the most hated basketball teams in the world, but also the most beloved in LA. They are definitely my favorite team, because I grew up watching them as a kid, and my whole family are all fans. 16 Titles, one of the most beloved NBA franchises, and defending back to back champs at this point. Also, defeating arch rival Boston for the title last year. Cannot go wrong there. Prediction: A three peat is on the way. Watch out!
#7 - Blogging Excursion
It is so amazing that God has gifted me with the ability to write. I am so thankful for this gift and I am going to continue to use it for His glory. The blogging excursion, this year, has been relatively quiet with fewer posts than the year before, but I plan on exceeding my post expectations next year. We have a God, who deserves glory and praise, and I plan on giving Him all my effort. This blog has been a blessing to me as well, because I am unworthily privileged to write for the King of kings. So, expect to be convicted and convinced of His Lordship in the year ahead. He is Worthy! :)
#6 Resolved Conference 2010
I was privileged this year to attend the Resolved Conference in Palm Springs, CA with my former Church's College group. We had a blast worshiping and praising our Lord, while sitting under amazing teaching. If you have ever been to Palm Springs in the summer time, you know how hot the temperatures can reach. The temperatures outside on a typical day during the Conference were about 110 degrees, but the fire of the Lord was just as burning inside the building as outside. What a profoundly inspirational time we had!
#5 Proclaiming the Gospel Through a Self-Box To My Communications Class at a Secular College
No picture needed for this one. I proclaimed the Gospel to my comm. class and anger was protruding like a laser beam through most of the eyes in the room. God was glorified as I nearly burst into tears, but kept my composure. It was a magnificent day. 1 Corinthians 2:2 says, "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."
#4 Cambria Vacation in August 2010
It was a remarkable week. Our grandparents joined us, and we had a relaxing time. Enjoying the miraculous and amazing beauty of God's astounding creation. Read more about it here.
#3 My Friend Sean's Death
(L to R: Me, Sean, Chance): This was a picture of us three graduates in 2008. Sean's death was a reflective memory in that he is having the time of his life right now. It was a joyous day, but a very sad day in a lot of ways. I miss his company, his laughter, his amazing strength as he dealt with life on a day to day basis. I love you Sean. :)
#2: Abbey's Adoption

#2: Abbey's Adoption
A side view of my smiling faced sweetheart. :)
And, a normal view of my cute pumpkin, who is not so happy. :)
Our family adopted her in January from Bethany Christian Services and she has been the absolute joy of our lives this year. Love you sweetie. :)
#1 Scripture Recitation
My sister Rachel and I recited a number of verses at our former church in February. This was the biggest highlight of my year, because the Scriptures we recited specifically involved Christ and His cross. The cross is our ultimate theme and a magnificent display of God's love. I posted the video back in February. If you have not seen it and/or want to see it, view it here.
Those have been the highlights of my year. It has been an up and down year, but a majestic year filled with God's blessings, riches, and mercies. Thanks for reading. I may be posting Part 5 tonight. Remember, the 30 day blog challenge begins tomorrow. Happy New Year Everyone!

Check This Game Out - How Well Do You Know Your Bible Game
I found this game over at Dakota's blog and it is pretty challenging. I am taking a day off of writing and I will post Part 4 tomorrow. Enjoy the game!
There are 30 books of the Bible in this paragraph. Can you find them? This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his john boat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Taylor, a columnist friend, was so intrigued by it she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column. Another friend judges the job of solving this puzzle so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot. That's a fact. Some people, however, will soon find themselves in a jam, especially since the book names are not necessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or a scholar to see some of them at the worst. Research has shown that something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph. During a recent fund raising event, which featured this puzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a new record. The local paper, The Chronicle, surveyed over 200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of the most difficult they had ever seen. As Daniel Humana humbly puts it, "The books are all right here in plain view hidden from sight." Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that may help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really well against those who claim to know the answers. Remember, there is no need for a mad exodus; there really are 30 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph waiting to be found. God Bless.

Practice, Practice, and More Practice....... :)
This post has randomly come up, because I am endeavoring on a path I have never trodden before. Well, I have part way. This path is learning how to play the guitar. I have a guitar. I have played for about a couple weeks. Then, I quit. I took up the task of persevering through it a couple other times after that first moment and quit both times after the task proved to be rather difficult from my perspective. I think I know what the problem is. I have this preconceived idea that overnight I will magically transform into this wonderful worship guitar leader, where I could play every worship song known to man. However as everyone knows, the reality of that happening is practically impossible from every angle in the universe. You will not magically transform into it. You must practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice..... Do you guys get the point? Yeah, I thought you all might. But, there is a difference. The difference now is that I am committed to practicing, because God is worthy of our worship and praise. I will persevere through this major step, because our God is mightily awesome. I will worship Him with all that I have. (Psalm 103:1). All that is within me, I will praise Him and bless Him.
If you guys have any tips, I would be glad for any help that I could receive. Thanks and many blessings.
Sola Deo Gloria!!!!

Quick Question For All of You
I have a question for all of you. When you look at the life of Jesus, when you read about the life of Jesus, when you hear stories about the life of Jesus, when you believe in Him, what do you see in Him that motivates your love for Him? What do you see in Him that drives you to your knees in awe and worship?
And, in reflection of that, does your life characterize the life of Christ day in and day out?

Post Reading - Open Discussion
I just wanted to know how many of you read my posts. If you do, can you please put in a quick comment? That would be great. The purpose of this is to see how many of you are, well, interested in the posts that I write. You can comment on what type of posts you would like to see more of. If you want me to finish the Attributes of God series, I am working hard on that. What I have been doing all this time is separating what I am going to talk about in succession with the other attributes of God. After God's love, we will dive into mercy and grace, as you all voted for. Next on the list will be the holiness of God and so on. His justice, righteousness, and the three omni's. We will also take a glimpse of God's sovereignty, immutability, and joy. This time has not been wasted. I thank you all for your patience. So, if you could please comment, that would be very helpful for me. Thank you!

Question
What is propitiation?
This is the biggest and most beautiful word of Part 3 of the Love of God series. Without looking at a biblical dictionary, give your best guess.

Schedule, Poll, and Miscellania
This is my schedule for the Attributes of God Series. At most, I am going to post two times per week. I have Finals coming up this week, so I won't be posting Part 3 until Thursday maybe Friday. We will see how it goes. Part 4 will come sometime Saturday or Sunday, and then I will post Part 5 Tuesday or Wednesday. I will post a Christmas post on the 25th. Then, I will be on vacation with family through the New Year. First time we have ever been on vacation during this time, but it should be fun.
Also, the Attributes of God poll is up. Please vote on the next Attribute of God that you want me to post about. The voting deadline is New Year's Eve. I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much.
That will be it for Saturday. Hope everyone had a great Saturday and will have a wonderful Lord's Day tomorrow.
Soli Deo Gloria!!!!!!!~

Book's I am Reading over the Summer
I love to read books and I wanted to share with you a few books that I will be reading this Summer.
The Cross of Christ By: John Stott
Spectacular Sins By: John Piper
The Vanishing Conscience By: John MacArthur
Systematic Theology By: Wayne Grudem (I am not reading the whole book at one time because it is over a thousand pages, but I will read at least a chapter every two weeks - I will finish the book in about two years).
The Book on Leadership By: John MacArthur
Quiet Strength By: Tony Dungy
Left Behind Series (The Kids) By: Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins (Already read the whole series twice, but it is a fun, easy read)
That will probably be all the books that I will finish this summer, but I may finish more. Just depends on my time schedule. I will hopefully start some new blog series soon as well and I will finish up Pt. 7 to the Cross of Christ Series. I bet Josh has been waiting for that for a long time, but I will eventually complete it.

No Horrific Content in Video
If you are concerned about the content of Christ's horrific sufferings being on the video, you do not need to be because there is none. See comment under the video post. It may help. I know that the majority of my followers have little brothers and sisters running around and may come up to watch the video. My main concern is that you do not need to be concerned and my comment under the video post may help. I hope you enjoy it and have a great rest of the day. Soli Deo Gloria!
