Did you know.................... #17
I know I am writing back to back did you know posts on consecutive nights, but this was an interesting sermon snippet that I picked up today.
Did you know......................................................... that, at the Lord's Supper, when Jesus was revealing to His disciples who would betray him, all of the disciples, besides Judas, asked Jesus with, "Is it I, Lord?" So, how did Judas answer the Savior? Let's look at Matthew 26.
Matthew 26:20-25 says, "When it was evening, he reclined at the table with the twelve. And as they were eating, He said, 'Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.' And they were very sorrowful and began to say to Him one after another, 'Is it I Lord?' He answered, 'He who has dipped his hand in the dish with Me will betray Me. The Son of Man goes as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.' Judas, who would betray Him, answered, 'Is it I, Rabbi?' He said to him, 'You have said so.'"
The betrayer, Judas himself, does not even acknowledge Jesus as his Lord. Instead, He acknowledges him as his Rabbi (good teacher of the Law in Hebrew). This revelation is significant simply because if you acknowledge Jesus as just a good teacher than your faith is in vain. Look where Judas ended up. Jesus said it would have been better if Judas would have never been born. If Jesus, the Creator and Author of the universe, says that it would have been better if someone was not born, then it must be taken literally as a word of vast importance to those living on the outskirts/lukewarmness of the Christian faith. Hey for that matter, it should be taken literally for all people headed to hell. Some would argue that Jesus is specifically talking about Judas in this matter and only Judas. But, I would argue that it would have been better for those on their way to hell to have never been born as well. Have you read in Scripture how horrifying that place is? It is way beyond your worst nightmare. No one in their right mind would choose to go there. However, those who live for themselves are traversing that broad road, which leads to destruction. In the case of Judas, he virtually sealed his demise when he betrayed the Son of God. May we never betray Him or even think of betraying Him. Or, our demise will be the same. Acknowledge Him as your Lord and never look back.
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Did you know................................. the closest star to earth besides our Sun, which is 93 million miles away by the way, is Proxima Centauri. Do you want to guess how far Proxima Centauri (closest star to earth besides the sun) is away from the earth? It is about 4.24 light years away, which converted to miles is approximately 23.5 trillion miles. So, the nearest star to our planet is 23.5 trillion miles. Wow!

Did you know.................... #14
As you can tell, I am bringing back the "Did you know" posts. This one is #14 and my first one since May of last year. Enjoy!
Did you know.................................................................... that the average cardiac output of the human heart over a 70 year lifetime is about 250,000 gallons of blood. This is not including athletic performance and does not go beyond 70 years. So, if you live longer than 70 and/or exercise, the capability of your heart producing blood nearly triples depending on how much you exercise and how much longer you live past 70.

Did you know........ #13
Did you know.................................................................................... that when Pilate asked Jesus in John 18:38, "What is truth?", he was staring into the very eyes of truth. In a sense, Pilate asked that specific question because he believed that Jesus was not the source of truth. He believed that Jesus was a good prophet, teacher, a follower of the law, etc., but not the exact representation, the actual fulfillment of truth itself. However, on that day unknown to Pilate, the very source of truth, Jesus, the one whom we call Christ, stared into the eyes of Pilate and did not answer him, because Pilate had his eyes fixated on the truth (John 14:6).

Sorry about falling behind on my Did you know posts. I will make it up today with two of them. If you have not watched this Louie Giglio video, this is an astounding factual piece of evidence in reflection of the preeminence of Christ. Excellent video. Did you know........ #11
This is going to be a fun did you know post.
Did you know................................................................... that my great-grandfather, Norm Stingley, invented the superball. You know those small balls that bounce really high. He invented that ball. I am not kidding! You can ask anyone in my family and they will completely agree with me. It is the truth. Type in inventor of superball or Norman Stingley in the Google search engine and you will find his name. Overall though, I can attest to the fact that he was a great man fully devoted to his Lord and Savior. He died when I was around 15, which was pretty much unexpected at the time, but God used him, a mere man, to invent a very popular child's toy. It is a pretty amazing story. I don't have time to go into it now, but maybe I will delve into the story some other time.
Sola Deo Gloria!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you know.............................................................. that if you are a Christian, it is well with your soul. Thank you Lord!!!!
It is Well
Written By: Horatio Spafford
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
Sola Deo Gloria!!!!!!!!!!!
It is Well
Written By: Horatio Spafford
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Did you know........ #9
This is an interesting fact I found.
Did you know.............................................................. that the human body contains around 10 to 75 trillion cells, and within every cell, there is a billion complex compounds consisting of mitochondria, the nucleus, etc. So, with multiplying that altogether, the human body contains a conservative estimate of 75,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (75 sextillion) complex compounds (give or take a billion).................................. Wow!!!!!

Did you know........ #8
This is sad. Did you know............................................................ a Barna poll survey revealed that one in four (25%) American adults who said they were born again also believed that Jesus sinned while He was on the earth?
When I read this, I was stunned. Number 1, these so-called born again believers really don't believe the truths that are posed in Scripture. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For our sake he made him to be sin WHO KNEW NO SIN, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." Hebrews also portrays that Christ was tempted in all aspects, yet WITHOUT SIN (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus Christ never sinned once and yet people don't believe the Bible. I guess they are using their own opinions to provide a logical answer, but to truly believe that Christ never sinned takes an act of God on our behalf. By faith, we need to completely depend on the Holy Spirit and believe that Christ never sinned once. TAKE SCRIPTURE AT IT'S WORD. It will never let you down.
Number 2, if these false gospel spreading believers truly believe that Christ sinned, the atonement is void. Everybody is going to hell. Do you remember Jesus' prayer in the garden? When Jesus was praying in complete agony in the garden, he asked the Father to please remove the cup of God's wrath from Him. On the other end of the prayer, there was complete silence, because there was no other way to save guilty sinners. If there was another way, God would have easily provided mankind with an alternative, but there was no other way. Think about this for a moment. If there was an alternative, don't you think God would have used the alternative rather than crushing, destroying, demolishing, lacerating, bruising, piercing HIS OWN SON on a cruel cross to redeem mankind back to Himself? I think so. False gospel spreading believers, I am calling them, need the alternative to be saved, redeemed, forgiven by God. There is no alternative. Since there is no alternative, they must believe that all are going to hell, because if Christ sinned ONLY ONE time, He is not the perfect, spotless Lamb of God, the Savior of all mankind. Rather, He is just some other good prophet, teacher, or leader, who died wickedly on a cruel cross for His sins. Sorry to burst your buttons, but that is complete blasphemy.
To end this post, Christ never sinned once. Scripture is totally clear about that fact (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22). He is the only Savior of mankind, there is no alternative (Matthew 26:39, Mark 14:35-36, Luke 22:42-44, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Titus 3:4-7). All praise to His glorious name, who loves us so much, even when we were dead in our trespasses and sins, He sent His Son, who humbled Himself, to pay our sin debt in full, that we may live with Him in heaven for eternity. Amen!

Arguably, Jonathan Edwards is the greatest theologian in American history. You can mention others, but Jonathan Edwards, by far, contained one of the greatest minds on theology in American history. No doubt! You will probably agree with this Did you know post, while you reflect on the greatness of God through this one man.
Did you know..................................................... that Jonathan Edwards graduated from Yale College at 17 years old as the valedictorian of his class. 17! By that time, he could also speak Latin, Hebrew, and Greek. He studied those subjects immensely and was completely enthralled by them that he decided to learn those languages. :0 Yeah, my mouth dropped open when I first read that too. :)
By the way, I have another blog, in which, I am going through a series on posting one of Jonathan Edwards resolutions a day. I would advise you to go check it out. You will be greatly encouraged and strengthened by this humble giant of the faith. :)

Did you know........ #5
For this Did you know post, I am going to go off an a bit of a tangent. This one is going to be a personal one and you all will definitely be surprised nonetheless.
Did you know................ that before I was conceived, the doctor, examining my mom's womb, mistook me for a girl. A girl! After hearing that, my parents chose a girl's name for me. What was my name going to be? Kirsten! My grandma even started sewing a pink girl's blanket for me. Wow! I was some pretty special girl, until my mom finally found out from the same doctor, a couple weeks later, that I was a boy. =) THE SAME DOCTOR. My mom also told the doctor that he said that I was going to be a girl a couple weeks back. Apparently, the doctor just stared at my mom and was like, no, he is definitely a boy. 99.9999999999% sure. What! Not even a 100 percent. That is way sad. However, I am glad God is always 100% sure and he knew that I was going to be a guy way before he even laid the foundations of the earth. All praise to His glorious name.
One last thing, don't call me Kirsten. I am a guy, not a girl. Thank you very much.
May God give us grace. Soli Deo Gloria!!!!!!!

Did you know.............................. that the universe contains a conservative estimate of around 35 billion galaxies?
A conservative estimate!!!!! No one knows the actual number, except for God of course, but that number completely astounds me. 35 billion...... God is awesome!!!!
If you don't know how big a galaxy is, watch this video by Francis Chan.

Sorry this is one day late. Better late than never, right. :)
Did you know that adult Peregrine Falcons have thin tapered wings, which allows them to dive at speeds reaching more than 200 mph?
Pretty amazing fact, huh. :D God is so Awesome.

Did you know....... #2
This is my second straight week doing this and I will definitely continue writing one concrete fact every Saturday. This week's fact comes straight from the Word of God. I find it mind-boggling and horrific; when taken literally.
Did you know....... that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was marred beyond human semblance and his form beyond that of the children of mankind? (Isaiah 52:14)
In Webster's 1828 Dictionary, the word "mar" literally means- to injure, to deform, or to disfigure. My ESV Study Bible's study notes puts it best, "Jesus was beaten into a shockingly inhuman mass of wounded flesh" (Ortlund Jr., 1337). Why? For my sinful, vile, irritable, murderous, lustful, repugnant, destructive soul. He took the full blame and guilt of our vile souls that we might see His grace in full beauty. He was beaten unmercifully with a leather bounded whip interwoven with bone and metal that I might see His wondrous mercy. He was pushed down and nailed to a terrible wooden cross that I might live with Him forever. He was spat upon and pushed around that we might see the awesome love of the Father. He was obedient to the Father and remained silent; so that we might bow before His very feet and worship HIM ALL OUR DAYS. Our Wonderful, Merciful, Saving, Righteous, Loving JESUS!!!! HE ALONE IS WORTHY!!!!!!

Did you know....... #1
Every Saturday, I have decided that I will post one concrete fact that is absolutely astounding pertaining to the nature of God's creation or whatever I find fascinating. Here is the first one.....
Did you know...... that there are more atoms in your body than there are stars in the universe?
The amount of stars in the universe accumulates to 10 to the 26th power, while actual atoms in your body make up 10 to the 28th power. That is 1 with 28 zeros after it.
Sola Deo Gloria!
