It is Well
Written By: Horatio Spafford
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
Sola Deo Gloria!!!!!!!!!!!

Like Louie Giglio said, "There really aren't enough 'It is Well' songs in the world."
I love this song. Some hymns can be theologically dry, but that shouldn't tear us away from hymns. This is an awesome song, and I love every verse. Thanks for posting it.

It's especially nice when things really are well with ones soul.
We just read a short biography about his life just prior to penning this song...amazing!
Keep writing for His glory, Joshua~

'It is well with my soul' is a wonderful hymn, but it becomes all the more rich in it's context and background. You might be surprised to know that Horatio Spafford wrote this hymn not when life was all going right for him, but on the contrary... I plan to post the story on my blog right now, also Joshua, if you would like, your welcome to post the same story with this post if you'd like. Just let me know. :)

That is a great song.
Joshua,
THis is one of my favorites! Actually this month at our worship night, we will be singing this song, so I am busy preparing it.
I need to go and do my ever present barn chores!
