Never Lose Sight of the Cross
Today, I am humbled. Words themselves cannot accurately describe how humbled I am. I am more humbled as each day passes than you could ever know by what Jesus has done. Whenever you hear of the mature mentality (what I mean is the prospects of a mature Christian straying away from the ultimate fundamental truth of the cross because they understand it) that goes through the minds of some Christians, I get irritated. You will never get over the cross. I don't care how mature you are in the faith. Paul, who most definitely was a mature Christian back in his day when God transferred him from darkness to light, iterated in 1 Corinthians that he decided to know nothing among the brethren except Jesus Christ and him crucified. Nothing...... except Christ and him crucified. If Paul chose in his heart and in his mind to remain close to the cross with eyes fixated upon it, we must follow suit. Do not give into the mature mentality. Never lose sight of the cross of Christ Jesus our Lord.

It's funny that you should write this because my Mom and I had a similar discussion today. We were talking about a ladies Bible study that we are attending and how some of it is hard to grasp for a few of the very new believers.
We thought that we should go back through the gospels and just learning again Who God is. Because no matter how many times you read about Christ's crucifixion, or what He did while on earth, there is always something new to learn. Once you've even decided that you've reached the 'mature mental state', you've already lost the race to pride.

Yes Sarah, you hit the nail on the head. I could not have said it any better. Though, there is a quote that I will mention from CJ Mahaney on the Gospel. He says, "Never be content with your current grasp of the Gospel. The Gospel is life-permeating, world-altering, universe changing truth. It has more facets than any diamond. We will never exhaust its depths." That sums it all up. :)
That is a really great quote! And it really fits, too. Recently, in my Bible reading, I was reading through the gospels and was amazed at how many things popped out at me that I hadn't ever noticed before. It was really neat, actually. And, it just makes Bible reading all the more exciting because who knows what you'll find next! :) Every discovery of any 'facet' makes your relationship with Christ so much sweeter.
