February Song of the Month: Beautiful Lord

I am going to begin a new journey on my blog.  Each and every first of the month, I will post a song that has impacted me in some way or the other in the previous month.  The first song to join the song of the month fold is Beautiful Lord, written by: Leeland and Marc Byrd.  This song is absolutely majestic.  Every time I listen to this song, I am completely amazed and astoundingly awed over God's majestic attributes.  His attributes is what makes Him beautiful.  His love, mercy, grace, holiness, awesomeness, majesty, sovereignty.  Each one displays how beautiful He is.  That is the essence of this song.

In these posts, I will post the lyrics of the song and a video of the song.  The song will also be placed on my playlist at the bottom of this blog.  So, enjoy Beautiful Lord and be astounded at the vast beauty of our Lord:

When the storm is raging all around me
You are the peace that calms
My troubled sea
And when the cares of this world
Darken my day
You are the light that shines
And shows me the way

Oh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for me!

Beautiful Lord
Awesome and mighty
I'm captured by this love I see
Beautiful Lord
Tender and holy
Your mercy brings me to my knees
It's Your mercy that has made me free
Beautiful Lord

When my sin is all that I can see
Your grace remains the shelter that I seek
And when my weakness is all I can give
Your gentle Spirit gives me strength again
And oh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for me

And I am lifted by Your love to sing!
It's Your mercy that has made me free!

You're beautiful, my Lord
You're beautiful, my Lord

Leeland is so awesome, and this is one of their best songs, IMO. I got to meet them a few years back, and they're a great bunch of guys.
