Of course, no one would expect a guy to love the lovey-dovey, kissing type romantic movies. As a matter of fact, though, I have watched quite a few of those in my lifetime, since I have a sister, who is absolutely enthralled with those movies. That is not to say I am completely thrilled to watch them. However, I don't think anyone would expect a guy like me to be nearly drop down thrilled to watch the Love Comes Softly series. I am not overly goo-goo, gaa-gaa over it, but let's say the series is not that bad compared to other romantic type movies. The structure and storyline of each movie makes it worth watching. It is also Christian based, so that helps tremendously. Therefore, the Love Comes Softly series is an excellent tribute to Christ and I can say, in a small whisper, that I like the series. Not love it, like it. :)

Normally, I don't even like rom-coms, but THIS SERIES ROCKS!! (And Willie in the later movies is adorable.)
I've always said, take a lovey-dovey, kissing type romantic movie, add one enthralled sister and a nearly drop down thrilled brother and you often get just the right amount of goo goo gaa gaa.
May,
"Rocks" is a good term to use for this series of films. It is enjoyable for the most part. However, us guys are not sitting around oooing and aaaaing over the girls. I guess it is just a girl thing to cuddle up to the guys *rolls his eyes*. :)
Dad,
lol. That is pretty hilarious and fairly true. ;)
Ok, I have to say I am laughing.... First of all, I don't like this movie series.. if I follow it from the book perspective. They did a bad job at following the books. However, if I just let my mental defense on that ground down, then I can enjoy them. :) I have not seen all of them, though I kind of want to. ;)
Great pick! lol! I definitely didn't expect it..

Lucky you Sarah. I have seen all of them maybe 5 times through. My sister gravitates toward these kinds of films, and I am usually stuck when it is her turn to pick a movie. The films she usually ends up choosing are Love Comes Softly, Anne of Green Gables (which is not bad), Christy (eeeeek, "so-so"), you name it. It must be a "romantic up to PG film" though. :)
In Christ,
Joshua :)
I would have to agree that if you follow the book serious it makes you rather furious that they would leave it so much! However with that being said, I have come to really really like the movie series ( my theory was to forget that they were even related to the books which wasn't all that hard to do since they were so different). Oh and I agree with May...Willie is adorable (makes me very very sad that he dies....*heart breaks* lol).

You definitely caught me off guard!! I am normally not the most romantic myself, but I like those movies too:)
Oh, I do like to make a big deal about the kissing parts by saying something like "ieewwww" and throwing my head in a pillow...I can get away with it for now:)
Joshua,
You have fine taste in a romantic movie. Love Comes Softly is one of my favorites...it's kind of like the comfort food of movies.
I'm with Rachel...Anne of Green Gables is another favorite of mine.
Following your plug for the Lord of the Rings Chris and I have been watching the trilogy over the last few weekends. Of course...now I want to read the books. I forgot how good they are. Or perhaps I'm seeing them from different eyes this time around.
I went "YES!" inside. Haha!! I know there are guys who admit that it's a pretty good one.. but haha we had a night of Pride and Prejudice once.. and the guys got SO into it. That was so much fun.. lol!
Bethany,
It proves my point. ;) Girls watch these films to oooh and aaah over the guys. *in girly voice* "Ahhhh, he's so cute. I love him." Give me a break. I am like Jenna in that I bury my head in the pillow when they start kissing. Just how I carry out my business with romantic movies. :)
Jenna,
I do the same exact thing. We should be on some team, and tease people when the kissing starts. That would be funny. ;)
Susan,
It depends on how you define fine taste, but I know what you mean.
That is great you took up my opinion and starting watching the LOTR's. The books are similar, but they give out more detail. They are still epic masterpieces though. ;)
Jess,
Yeah, I admit it. It was difficult, but what can I say. The truth must come out sometime. :)
