Oh man, I have many childhood memories. Many! But, I have to pick one *sigh*. Hey, maybe I will share two. Here goes....
I was about seven years old and we were living at our old house on Fern street. To describe the scene for you all, my neighbors; Nikki, Roy, and Jacob; lived in the next house on our right. Alex, Amanda, and Kendall lived next door on our left. These were the kids we used to play with constantly. Do you all remember when Pokemon was the phase for kids in the late 90s? We used to play the actual card game, play the video games, and indulge ourselves to no end with Pokemon. Looking back on it, it was not a good use of my time. I was also a huge baseball card collector. I had a magnificent amount of baseball cards ranging from Willie Mays to a Kevin Millwood rookie card. I would usually spend countless hours in my room reading off the stats each player contributed in his baseball career, and rate them. I had a massive compulsion for these things, which I now realize was a huge waste of time. However, this is beside the point of this specific memory.
Now, I was headed over to Roy and Jacob's house for something. There was a problem though. A gigantic rosebush stood between our houses. Now, I am a young, naive, inexperienced young child. At seven, I had no idea what a rosebush was. So without contemplating my footsteps, I ran directly through the rosebush. (ha) Now, I know you are all laughing, but it was a horrific experience for me as a child. Once I found myself on the other side of the rosebush, I was bleeding everywhere. I did not cry, which was a miracle in those days. I was actually rather shocked that I had a good portion of thorn piercings all over my body. Yeah, shocked! :) I learned after that difficult experience that rosebushes are not a plant you want to mess around with. Thankfully, I have saved myself more heartache by always walking around rosebushes since that very day. I will never forget that day. It will live in infamy until I die. :)
I will share the other memory some other time.

You got me... I'm laughing. =] Though, I do feel very bad for your seven-year-old self!
And oh yes do I remember those Pokemon days. I was in 1st grade at the time and a friend and I were trying to convince my 1st grade teacher that Pokemon was here to stay. He seemed convinced that it was "just a fad." Of course, to our 1st grade mind we're like, "Huh? What's that?" Were we convinced WE were right... turns out we weren't thank the Good Lord Above!!
Ha-ha!! Oh, poor you as a little kid! That would be a horrible experience. I have never liked rose bushes because of those thorns, though I do LOVE the flower.... lol!
That is definitely one good memory...

That would definitely hurt! haha but it does make for a good memory ;)
*:) oops....
haha! oh I mean aww...poor you as a little kid. Ahh we all do crazy things don't we! Isn't it interesting how when we were little we learned most things about life by trial and mistake? The beauty of this is that as Christians we often learn things by trial and mistake as well and God knows this and I believe expects it. Really makes life less stressed. :) Life is full of learning about what is around us.

May,
Amen to that. I am glad the Pokemon fad is nearly over. There are still some trinkets of it left in some places, but for the most part it is gone. :)
Sarah,
I still like the bushes even after that incident. The bushes are beautiful especially when a bunch of roses are all over the bush. It is a pretty sight.
Lauren Nicole,
Yeah, it did hurt, but as you said it did make a good memory. Thanks for the comment. :)
Bethany,
Well, at the time, I did not think it was crazy. That is the funny thing about it. But, I understand your point though. :)
