Song #2 - Lead Me To The Cross

This week's song is a song that I first heard at my Thursday night Bible study. The first time that I heard this song, I was not sure about it, because the lyrics are a bit simple, but even with simple lyrics, this song is simply excellent in leading us to worship our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave up His life to save us. Here are the lyrics:

Lead Me To The Cross
Lyrics written by Hillsong
Playlist music by Chris and Conrad

Savior I come
Quiet my soul
Remember

Redemption's hill
Where your blood was spilled
For my ransom

Chorus:
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost...
Lead me to the cross
Where your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to you
Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human

The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen

Chorus again with:
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

I did not dissect the lyrics from the song I chose last week, but I will dissect the lyrics of "Lead Me To The Cross." The main theme of this song is clearly the Cross of Christ. The blood of Calvary's precious Lamb that was slain to redeem the lost and hopeless foreigners of this world. This is the climax, the maximum, the majestic theme of this song. The verses of the song follow the lead of the theme of Calvary, but as we get into the chorus, what happens? The writer sees the preciousness of the Awesome, Amazing, Awe-Inspiring sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. HE GAVE UP EVERYTHING. He left the comfortable recesses of Heaven to bear our shame and punishment on a cruel cross that He had no business enduring. That was supposed to be OUR just, deserved punishment, but He willingly and obediently bore the wrath of God Almighty; because HE LOVES US SO MUCH. (John 3:16) What Amazing Love that cannot be comprehended? Praise you, Lord Jesus! Now, back to what I was saying. So, this song is simply teaching us a crucial, but valuable point of 'everything that I once held dear, I count it all as lost,' because I can fully see the preciousness and the radiant beauty of the Awesome, Amazing, Astounding, Awe-Inspiring sacrifice of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who is worthy above all else and Who reigns forever and ever, our Great God and King. Jesus, our precious Jesus.

Lord,
I pray that you would drive us to our knees. That we will repent of anything that might be of a hindrance in our walks with you. That we would love you more than anything, value you more than anything, treasure you more than anything else. We love you and want to serve you faithfully the rest of our days. Help us to do so. Thank you for the cross and the payment that you bore to save us from eternal judgment in hell forever. You are worthy and we praise you and thank you. It's in your son's name we pray. AMEN

Did you know....... #3

Sorry this is one day late. Better late than never, right. :)

Did you know that adult Peregrine Falcons have thin tapered wings, which allows them to dive at speeds reaching more than 200 mph?

Pretty amazing fact, huh. :D God is so Awesome.

Blog Award

I was awarded a blog award. The award from Ivorydancer is the Advanced Awesomeness Award. Thanks Ivorydancer, I definitely appreciate this award, but I believe that I am fully undeserving of this award. Why? Psalm 111:9 says, "He sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever. Holy and Awesome is His name." This award should only be placed in the hands of the King of kings and Lord of lords. His name is Holy and Awesome. He is the only one deserving of this award. I am a mere vessel and an unworthy filth-laden sinner. If there is anything in this blog that is good (awesome), it is all from Him. If this blog is stamped with the awesomeness and greatness of God, it is all from Him; not of my own doing. I can do nothing apart from His grace and daily strength. What does John 15:5 say (a familiar verse)? The verse states: "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, FOR APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING. I can do nothing apart from the strength of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anything, on this blog, that is good, is of Him; not of me. Don't be twirling your finger around towards me trying to build me up. Instead, thank God for the blessing of this blog, because anything good that comes out of it is from Him. I will stop beating the dead horse with this statement, but I want you guys to see that anything good or profitable that comes from this blog is God's. Not my own doing, I AM NOT GOOD (Romans 3:10). Maybe I will write a post about this sometime, but my main point is to turn the attention to the One who is Awesome. So with that said, I understand your intentions Ivorydancer, and I thank you that you found this blog worth reading, but the moral of the story is that this blog is not awesome. Only God is Awesome. He is the only one worthy to be called Awesome. This blog has many undeserving chords tied to it, since it was written by a human being; so it does not even stand in the category of awesomeness. I hope you understand.

Playlist

My new Wednesday playlist is on the bottom of my blog. If you want to hear the song From the Inside Out, go to the bottom of my blog and press the play button. That is all you have to do. For now, so long.

Sola Deo Gloria!!!!!

Song #1 - From the Inside Out

Like posting a fact once every Saturday, I am deciding to post a song every Wednesday that has greatly blessed or touched me over the past few years. Each song posted on this blog will be used to glorify and magnify the name of Christ, because He alone is Worthy to be praised and He alone is to be Glorified above every other thing. That is my first and foremost goal. My second goal is to encourage you, my followers and friends, to draw into a more deeper and personal relationship with the God of the Universe. My prayer is that we would all literally fall in love with Him. Put off the things of the flesh and follow wholeheartedly after Christ. He deserves our praise, adoration, and worship; but He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. That is the climax of the Christian faith. O.K., I have been rambling a bit here, but I will give you the lyrics of the song, dissect those lyrics by writing a little bit about the song, and add only that song to my first playlist. I will change the song on the playlist each and every week to match with the song that I just posted about. Hopefully, you all understand what I am trying to say here.

The first song, From the Inside Out, is my favorite Hillsong song. If you have never heard of Hillsong before, their music is wrapped with theological content that inspires and motivates the soul to worship the one true, living God of all. I hope that you are blessed by this song as much as I have been blessed by it. Also, this time, I will not dissect the lyrics because time is limited, but the lyrics crucially display that our consuming love for God inside of our souls should result in the magnificent display of His glory to those around us. It is a beautiful thought of what God could do if we surrender our all to Him.

From the Inside Out
By: Hillsong

A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Chorus 2x
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out

Honest Scrap Blog Award

I have been awarded this blog award about a month ago and it was not my intention to push this award off to the side. School has been keeping me very busy and blogging has not been a huge priority in my life these past few weeks. So, without further ado, I thank Katie for finding this blog worth reading and most of all, I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for giving me this brain to be specifically used for His glory and honor alone.

1. I am honestly a procrastinator when it comes to my schoolwork. I always wait until the last minute to finish up any essay, project, piece of math homework, etc.; but I am trying to work on this area of my life. It has been extremely difficult though, but God is graciously guiding me along.

2. I enjoy looking at the details of many parts of God's creation. Whether it be stripes on the petal of a flower or the intricate design of each and every avocado tree leaf. Some people may think this observation is strange, but I find it fascinating. Have you ever looked at the lines of skin on your hand? God perfected the design of the skin by making it look like someone fashioned it. It is amazing.

3. My family is adopting a baby through an adoption agency called Bethany. We were last shown a few days ago, but we never know when we will get the significant call that will change our lives for the better.

4. When I am married, I want to have a bunch of kids--- Lord-willing. If not biologically, adoption is out there. I love kids. :)

5. What do I want to be when I grow up? Don't know, but God has shown many people in my Bible Study Group that the ministry is in my future. Evangelist, Pastorate, Teacher, who knows? God does and I am thankful for that.

6. Honestly, I pray that my life would be lived in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. That I would lead my future family by example, by the truth found solely in Scripture, and by God's divine power at work through me.

7. I am also very fearful about speaking out loud period. I have a speech impediment that is very frustrating at times. There are times when I block and I can't get the word out. The words are fashioned wonderfully in my brain. I know what I want to say. It is just that I have difficulty getting the words out sometimes. One of the guy's from my Bible Study says that I am going to be just like Moses. If you know, Moses had a speech impediment and God used Him; so if He could use Moses; He could use me in anyway He wants. I find that somewhat comforting. :)

8. I will eat everything; except, tomatoes and strawberries. Sorry, the texture of strawberries is ugghhhh; and the rawness of tomatoes are disgusting. Though, I will eat strawberries in smoothies, jams, jelly, etc.; and tomatoes diced, in salsa, ketchup, etc. I know I am very strange. :)

9. I am eternally grateful for the brutal sacrifice that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ willingly paid to redeem my vile soul from the pit of hell.

10. I am 6'2" tall. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and enjoy bicycling when I get the chance too. :)

I definitely enjoyed writing 10 honest things about myself and thanks Katie again for the award.

I award this blog award to anyone who wants to write 10 honest things about themselves; and, since, Life Savior has not received any blog awards ever. I will graciously award this blog award to Life Savior, the team of a few Christian guys, striving wholeheartedly for the Lord their Awesome God. They truly deserve this award too. Their blog is great. I would encourage you all to check them out, if you have not already done so.

Sola Deo Gloria!

Did you know....... #2

This is my second straight week doing this and I will definitely continue writing one concrete fact every Saturday. This week's fact comes straight from the Word of God. I find it mind-boggling and horrific; when taken literally.

Did you know....... that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was marred beyond human semblance and his form beyond that of the children of mankind? (Isaiah 52:14)

In Webster's 1828 Dictionary, the word "mar" literally means- to injure, to deform, or to disfigure. My ESV Study Bible's study notes puts it best, "Jesus was beaten into a shockingly inhuman mass of wounded flesh" (Ortlund Jr., 1337). Why? For my sinful, vile, irritable, murderous, lustful, repugnant, destructive soul. He took the full blame and guilt of our vile souls that we might see His grace in full beauty. He was beaten unmercifully with a leather bounded whip interwoven with bone and metal that I might see His wondrous mercy. He was pushed down and nailed to a terrible wooden cross that I might live with Him forever. He was spat upon and pushed around that we might see the awesome love of the Father. He was obedient to the Father and remained silent; so that we might bow before His very feet and worship HIM ALL OUR DAYS. Our Wonderful, Merciful, Saving, Righteous, Loving JESUS!!!! HE ALONE IS WORTHY!!!!!!

Did you know....... #1

Every Saturday, I have decided that I will post one concrete fact that is absolutely astounding pertaining to the nature of God's creation or whatever I find fascinating. Here is the first one.....

Did you know...... that there are more atoms in your body than there are stars in the universe?

The amount of stars in the universe accumulates to 10 to the 26th power, while actual atoms in your body make up 10 to the 28th power. That is 1 with 28 zeros after it.

Sola Deo Gloria!
